Publishing & Policy Information for ScienceWatch.com
Changing/Editing and/or Updating Information In Your Published Feature
If you are featured in ScienceWatch.com, or the other archived editorial Web sites (in-cites.com, esi-topics.com, or the Science Watch® Newsletter) and are inquiring about changing your contact information, or edits of any kind, please read the information below:
As with a printed journal once an issue has gone to print, the content of the piece will remain unchanged*. Therefore, the articles and all other material published within, will not be edited after publication to make changes or revisions to the original item, rankings, numbers, data, or to remove or modify information pertaining to author, institution, journal, nation, mailing address (postal or email), and/or any other part of the article, or to change web site URLs (links) that pertain to the interviewee—or any other item not mentioned herein*.
Additional images/figures/descriptions will not be added after the article has been published live online.
The article data/information/rankings, as well as any contact information that were pertinent at the time (source data time periods) of posting and therefore remains a permanent, and un-editable part of the online editorial item.
Interviewees are responsible for the accuracy of their information including title, contact details, and any other content contained in the commentary submission.
This also pertains to any images/figures/diagrams/text that are sent in by the interviewee for his/her interview/commentary/feature.
Corrections of any kind will not be made after the interview/commentary has been published online1.
LATE ENTRIES
If an interview/commentary of any kind is received after the last day of the publishing month, it is considered a "late entry." Because it arrived postmarked after the last day of the scheduled publishing month it was selected for, it will then be posted on the following update month of its particular category. The interview/commentary/feature will appear in the menu for the month it was originally selected for. However, the interview/commentary/feature will be published in the current month's listings of interviews/commentaries/features.
1 NOTE: SUBSTANTIAL FACTUAL OR EDITORIAL CORRECTIONS ARE ANOTHER MATTER AND (SEE BELOW), IF NECESSARY, WILL BE HANDLED BY LINKING READERS TO EITHER A CORRECTED VERSION OF THE ITEM, OR AT THE DISCRETION OF SCIENCEWATCH.COM. THE ARTICLE WILL BE MARKED WITH A "CORRECTION NOTICE" USUALLY (BUT NOT ALWAYS) AT THE BOTTOM OF THE PAGE.
CORRECTIONS OF THIS KIND WILL OCCUR ONLY IF/WHEN WE MAKE AN EDITORIAL MISTAKE OR TYPO.
