Between 2003 and 2007, Clarivate indexed 349,959 papers that listed
at least one author address in Germany. Of those papers, the highest
percentage appeared in journals classified under the heading of space
science, followed by physics and geosciences. In space science, Germany's
impact score of 10.61 cites per paper surpassed the world average of 7.80
cites by 36%. Similarly, except for the three social-science fields shown
above, Germany's relative-impact score impressively exceeded the world
average, notably in geosciences (40% above), physics (+39%), and plant
& animal science (+36%).
