Between 2003 and 2007, Clarivate indexed 40,106 papers that listed at
least one author address in Finland. Of those papers, the highest
percentage appeared in journals classified under the heading of
ecology/environmental sciences, followed by space science and neurosciences
& behavior. As the right-hand column indicates, the citations-per-paper
average (or impact) for ecology papers from Finland during the five-year
period surpassed the world average by 33% (5.38 cites per paper for
Finland, versus the world baseline of 4.06 cites per paper).
Relative-impact scores for Finland were also notably strong in agricultural
sciences (50% above the world average), physics (42% above), and clinical
medicine (+39%).
