As the right-hand column shows, the citations-per-paper average for space-science papers from Italy was 24% above the world average in the field (8.86 cites per paper for Italy versus the world mark of 7.14 cites per paper). The nation also performed strongly in physics (25% above the world mark), clinical medicine (24% above), agricultural sciences (+21%), and materials science (+17%).
