Between 2006 and 2010, Clarivate indexed 46,877 papers that listed at least one author address in Finland. Of those papers, the highest percentage appeared in journals indexed under the main heading of environment/ecology, followed by space science and economics & business. As the right-hand column shows, the impact (i.e., cites per paper) of environment/ecology reports featuring Finland-based authors was 44% above the field’s world average for the five-year period (7.03 citations per paper for Finland, versus the world figure of 4.87). Finland’s relative impact was also notably strong in physics (66% above the world mark), agricultural sciences (+58%), and geosciences (+49%).
