Science Watch® - Tracking Trends and Performance in Basic Research
November/December 2001

CORRECTION

The introduction to the September/October 2001 interview with Serge L. Beaucage of the FDA contained a few inaccuracies that were inadvertently missed during copyediting. The last sentence of the first paragraph, discussing oligonucleotide synthesis via the adding of "amino acids," should have read "...oligonucleotides are synthesized by sequentially adding the desired nucleotide units to an immobilized polynucleotide chain." And Dr. Beaucage's lab at the FDA's Center for Biologics Evaluation and Research is located not in Rockville, Maryland, but in Bethesda.

The corrections have been made to the online version. Science Watch® apologizes for the errors.
