10-Year Papers | 2-Year Papers
The list of the most-cited papers from the past two years is led by a 2009 report from the CDF II collaboration at Fermilab's Tevatron, documenting the absence of supersymmetric particles at collision energies up to two trillion electron volts. This was the first of two negative searches on the list. The second is the more disheartening of the two: a January 2011 report from the CMS experiment at CERN's Large Hadron Collider documenting the absence of supersymmetric particles at energies up to seven trillion electron volts. It sits at #8 only because it's had significantly less time to garner citations.
Most of the remaining papers from the two-year list, as with the 10-year list, are theoretical investigations into the implications and viability of various supersymmetric models. Interspersed among them are a handful of phenomenology papers, examining how supersymmetric particles might appear in Earth-bound experiments or as components of the dark matter.

About the 2-year Paper List:
The baseline time span for this database is January 1, 2001-September 26,
2011. The resulting database contained 18,614 (10 years) and 4,648 (2
years) papers. To construct the top 20 papers lists for the past
decade and the past two years, the papers were further narrowed down by the
title keywords "supersymmet*" and "SUSY." This adjustment resulted in the
top 20 papers being selected from a pool of 4,957 (10 years) and 1,147 (2
years).
This information pertains to both the 2- and 10-year papers.
General Information
Reviewing highly cited papers can help to determine what research areas within a Special Topic have had a significant impact over a given period of time. Special Topics lists the 20 most-cited papers over the past decade and over the past two years, based on a set of criteria uniquely tailored to each individual Topic. Details of these criteria are given within each Topic.
By examining highly cited papers over both the past decade and over the most recent two-year period, we can make observations and comparisons regarding long-term trends and more recent activity that has the potential to be the next long-term trend.
What are Special Topics?
Special Topics, from ScienceWatch.com, is designed to complement Essential Science IndicatorsSM from Clarivate in providing citation analyses and commentary for selected scientific research areas that have experienced notable recent advances or are of special current interest.
