Between 2003 and 2007, Clarivate indexed 127,487 papers that listed
at least one author address in Australia. Of those papers, the highest
percentage appeared in journals classified under the heading of education.
As the right-hand column shows, the citations-per-paper average, or impact,
of education reports from Australia exceeded the world average in that
field by 13% (1.35 cites per paper for Australia versus the world average
of 1.20 cites). The relative impact of Australian research was also notably
strong in geosciences (23% above the world mark), physics (23% above), and
space science (+22%)..
