Between 2004 and 2008, Clarivate indexed 47,503 papers that listed at
least one author address in Denmark. Of those papers, the highest
percentage appeared in journals classified under the heading of
environment/ecology. In that field, as the right-hand column indicates, the
citations-per-paper average for papers from Denmark exceeded the world
average by 42% (6.31 cites per paper for Denmark versus a world baseline of
4.43 citations). The nation's relative-impact performance was also notably
strong in materials science (77% above the world mark), space science (65%
above), physics (+59%), mathematics (+57%), and computer science (+57%).
