Of those papers, the highest percentage was indexed in the category of space science, followed by mathematics and geosciences. As the right-hand column shows, the impact of space-science papers from France-based authors was 23% above the world average during the five-year period (9.47 cites per paper for France, versus the world figure of 7.69 cites). The impact of French research was also notably strong in plant & animal science (44% above the world mark), geosciences (38% above), and agricultural sciences (+32%).
