Between 2006 and 2010, Clarivate indexed 252,736 papers listing at least one author address in Canada. Of those papers, the highest percent appeared in journals indexed under the main heading of psychiatry/psychology, followed closely by environment/ecology. As the right-hand column shows, the impact (citations per paper) mark for psychiatry/psychology papers featuring Canada-based authors was 12% above the world average for the field (5.21 cites per paper for Canada versus 4.65 cites for the world). Canada’s other relative-impact scores, which exceeded the world mark in all the fields shown here, were notably strong in space science (71% above the world mark), clinical medicine (45% above), agricultural sciences (+43%), and physics (+43%).
