Between 2005 and 2009, Clarivate indexed 88,223 papers listing at least one author address in Turkey. Of those papers, the highest percentage appeared in journals categorized under agricultural sciences, followed closely by clinical medicine. As the right-hand column indicates, the citations-per-paper (impact) mark for agricultural-sciences papers from Turkey was at 90% of the world figure for the five-year period (or just 10% below: 2.72 cites per paper for Turkey versus the world score of 3.01 cites). In engineering, on the other hand, the relative-impact figure for Turkey-based authors was +8%, while the nation also performed with comparative strength in computer science and physics.
