Between 2006 and 2010, Clarivate indexed 414,786 papers that listed at least one author address in Germany. Of those papers, the highest percentage appeared in journals indexed under the heading of space science, followed by physics and neuroscience & behavior. As the right-hand column shows, the impact (or cites-per-paper) score for space-science papers featuring Germany-based authors was 43% above the world average for the field during the five-year period (11.27 cites per paper for Germany versus the world mark of 7.88 cites). Germany’s relative-impact performance was also strong in plant & animal science (50% above the world figure), physics (+48%), and geosciences (+39%).
